Step 1: Prepare Your Application
1.1 Email sne@lta.co.fj requesting a copy of the application, or download the Form from FTIP or the website of the Land Transport Authority.
1.2 Fill out the Application carefully and attach all the required documents. Ensure that the facilities and workshop meet all the required standards.

The Land Transport Authority categorizes Motor vehicle dealing business into the following two categories:

Required Documents
A. Required Documents
- Application for an AMVD
- Appropriate council’s approval or intentions to approve the premises for the business of vehicle dealing.
- Occupational Health and Safety letter for premises from the Ministry of Labor.
- An Engineer’s certificate of the building premises.
- A copy of the property ownership of the premises or tenancy agreement (Minimum tenancy agreement of one [1] year)
- A declaration from the applicant on the company’s letterhead of all current directors and officers, together with the names and addresses. Further, a list with the names of every person having responsibility for management or operation of the business; i.e., Branch manager, Motor vehicle sales personnel, Mechanics, Auto electrician, etc.
- Police clearance of director(s) – if adversely affected, the adverse records policy is to be used as a guideline.
- If a foreigner, police clearance from the respective foreign country is to be submitted
- Tax Identification Letter (TIN) for the AMVD company
- Tax Compliance Certificate (if it is an existing company)
- Foreign Investor Certificate (if directors are foreigners)
- Memorandum of Article or Form A2 showing ownership, including company directors and their migration status
- Declaration of any other business engagement or ownership on company letterhead
- The company’s recent financial statement
- National Fire Authority compliance certificate
- Occupational Health and Safety letter for the ramp from the Ministry of Labour (if applicable)
- A site plan showing the following:
(a) Total demarcated areas of operation with area (m2)
(b) Office space demarcation
(c) Customer waiting area demarcation
(d) Reception area demarcation
(e) Customer parking area
(f) Vehicle display yard
(g) Workshop
(h) Premises entry and exit
(i) Traffic flow

B. Facility Requirements
Office / Customer Service Area
- Minimum space: 24m² (including waiting and reception areas).
- Proper lighting, ventilation, and a minimum ceiling height of 2.3m.
- Painted with appropriate doors and windows.
Customer Waiting Area
- Must fit at least 4 people.
- Comfortable, sturdy furniture.
- Demarcated area.
Reception Area
- Space for an office desk, a chair, and 2 medium filing cabinets.
- Demarcated area.
Spare Parts & Storage Space
- Enclosed storage area with proper lighting and ventilation.
- Spare parts should match vehicle makes/models.
- Demarcated area.
Toilet Facility
- Accessible, clean, and functional.
- Proper lighting, ventilation, and door.
Vehicle Display Yard
- For vehicles under 3.5 tonnes: Minimum 50m², flat, and paved (concrete, crushed metal, or tar).
- For vehicles over 3.5 tonnes: Minimum 150m².
Customer Parking Area
- Minimum 50m², flat, and paved (concrete, crushed metal, or tar).
- Clearly demarcated.
Inspection Ramp
- Options:
- Hoist ramps (four-post, two-post, scissor, portable, etc.).
- Raised ramp (1.7m minimum height).
- Inspection pit (1.7m minimum depth).
- Flat space for specialized vehicles (forklifts, tractors, cranes).
- Must be certified by OHS and support vehicle weight.
Workshop
- Concrete floor with shelter (concrete, timber, or iron).
- Minimum space: 20m².
- Must fit one vehicle for repairs.
- Sufficient lighting and ventilation.
